Abandoned incomplete building in Paramount Garden, PJ finally torn down

The stalled project of the abandoned and incomplete two-storey service centre cum office building on a piece of vacant land in Jalan 20/24 Paramount Garden in Petaling Jaya was finally demolished on Sunday 27th June 2010

The construction started in mid 2006 but was temporarily halted soon after residents living in the residential area strongly objected. They wanted the local authority to retain the empty lot as greenery.

Located opposite the LRT Taman Paramount station, it was a real eyesore and threat as the aedes breeding ground.

A decision was finally made to tear down the building.

It was a happy final chapter for the residents who had objected to the project since 2003 but the local authority granted approval to construct the building despite the protest.

A special crane was used to tear down the building.

The stalled project was ugly and a huge eyesore.

The crane removed the debris on to the lorry.
