Majlis Mesra Gong Xi Fa Cai 2011 at MBPJ


The Petaling Jaya City Council (Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya MBPJ) held a Majlis Mesra Gong Xi Fa Cai 2011 to celebrate the Chinese New Year of the Rabbit from 7 pm to 11 pm on Saturday 19th February 2011 at the open-air car park of its headquarter in Jalan Yong Shook Lin.

More than 3,000 people from all races and walks of life thronged the new year celebration and enjoyed themselves to the food, drinks and cultural shows.

Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim who arrived to officiate the event was given a resounding round of applause by the crowd.

The highlight of the celebration was the street procession from the car park to the Section 52 town centre and back.

CNY celebration at Buddhist Maha Vihara Temple, Brickfields


A lion dance performance livened up the atmosphere and kept visitors entertained at the Chinese New Year Open House 2011 at Buddhist Maha Vihara Temple, Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday 15th February 2011.

More than 600 visitors to the open house were feted with a Chinese vegetarian buffet while being entertained by a pair of dancing lions performing vigorous and energetic rountine accompanied by the resounding beat of a traditional Chinese drum, gong and cymbal.

Buddhist Maha Vihara Kuala Lumpur president Tilak Leslie Jayawardena, who is also president of Sasana Abhiwurdhi Wardhana Society, members of Friends of the Vihara and volunteers were on hand to greet and welcome their guests and visitors.

Big turnout at ADUN Bukit Lanjan Elizabeth Wong CNY Open House

Over 2,000 people thronged the Chinese New Year 2011 Open House hosted by ADUN Bukit Lanjan state assemblywoman YB Elizabeth Wong held at Persiaran Jalan Tanjung SD 13/1, Bandar Sri Damansara on Sunday 13th Feb 2011.

A smiling Elizabeth Wong, who is the Selangor State Exco for Tourism, Consumer Affairs and Environment, was happy with the overwhelming attendance and the support shown as the multi-racial crowd happily intermingled and celebrated the Chinese New Year together.

The festive atmosphere was abuzz with the present of VIP guest Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim and his wife Puan Sri Salbiah Binti Tunut,

Visitors to the open house were feted with a sumptuous spread of local delicacies while being entertained by Chinese New Year songs, lion dance, cultural dance performances.
