Face to Face with OCPD: PJ SS2 residents find police dialogue useful

The “Face to Face with OCPD PJ” event organized by the Police and Rukun Tetangga (RT) SS2B was held at a field in Jalan SS2/32 on 28th November 2010.

The residents had nothing but praise for the Petaling Jaya police and OCPD ACP Arjunaidi Bin Mohamed.

More than 300 people turned out for the event and took the opportunity to meet the Petaling Jaya police chief and senior police officers face to face - for the first time.

The community policing programme provided an opportunity for needed exchange between the police and the residents to discuss on crime and security issues in their neigbourhood with the aim to improve community safety and quality of life.

It helps to increase public confidence in the police, reduce the fear of crime and reassure people that their concerns are being seriously dealt with. It also help to foster good understanding and build closer rapport between the Police and the public.

Two police dogs from the Police K9 (canine) unit of Bukit Aman demonstrated their skills and abilities in sniffing out illicit drugs much to the delight of the enthusiastic crowd.

There was also an exhibition on the roles and responsibilities, functions and operations of the various police units.
